A biomarker is a **measurable**, **objective** indicator of a biological state or condition, such as respiratory rate or heart rate. They are typically used to assess **normal biological processes**, pathological conditions, or responses to therapeutic interventions.

Biomarkers offer a snapshot of a user's current health condition, **determined based on a single **[Face Scan](docId\:mw6gpbZekcj_-_LZrQjLL)**.** They are therefore directly tied to a specific Face Scan and are stored with the actual Face Scan's data.

The IntelliProve Engine utilises advanced [rPPG technology](https://intelliprove.com/technology) to accurately measure these parameters directly from the face scan, offering a non-invasive and efficient approach to health monitoring.
