# Guidelines and recommendations

To ensure a good health scan, the person's **face** and **upper-chest** should be within the frame of the video. We highly advice to draw a **indicatory frame** on the recording screen that indicates the position of the face in such way that the persons face and upper chest will always be in the frame of the video. The indicated frame should be such that it ensures the maximum ratio of body/face in the total frame.

 ✅ Take a **seated** position.

 ✅ **Align** and **center** your face and shoulders within the indicated area.

 ✅ Ensure the upper part of your **chest** is **visible**. This is used to measure respiratory rate.

 ✅ Hold the smart device **steady**.

 ✅ Make sure the lighting is **constant** and your face is **evenly** **illuminated**.

 ✅ Make sure your **camera lens** is **clean**.

 ✅ Attempt to have a **static background**, e.g. no moving objects or people walking in the background. This improves accuracy.
